The Bar Council of India's All India Bar Examination (AIBE XXI) registration window closes on 30 April 2026. Law graduates who have not yet registered must complete their application at allindiabarexamination.com before the deadline to appear for the exam scheduled on 7 June 2026.
What has changed
The BCI released the AIBE XXI notification on 7 January 2026 and opened online registration from 11 February 2026. The syllabus for AIBE XXI was released on 2 March 2026. The key dates are:

The AIBE is a mandatory qualifying examination for all law graduates to obtain the Certificate of Practice (COP), which is required to practice as an advocate in Indian courts. Passing the AIBE is necessary in addition to enrollment with a State Bar Council.
Who is affected
- Recent law graduates (3-year or 5-year LL.B.) from BCI-recognised universities who have not yet cleared the AIBE
- Final-year law students who are appearing in their final semester examinations and have no backlogs may also apply
- Candidates who appeared in earlier AIBE editions but did not qualify and wish to reattempt
- The AIBE is an open-book exam — candidates are permitted to carry bare acts and commentaries
What students should do
- Visit allindiabarexamination.com and register with a valid email and mobile number
- Fill the application form with personal, educational, and enrollment details
- Upload required documents: recent photograph, signature, LL.B. degree or final-year marksheet, State Bar Council enrollment certificate (if available), and category certificate (if applicable)
- Pay the application fee online before 1 May 2026
- Review and submit — the correction window closes on 3 May 2026, so verify all details before final submission
- Download your admit card from 22 May 2026 onwards and note your exam centre
Candidates who submitted an undertaking for AIBE XIX regarding enrollment certificates have been given an extended deadline of 21 June 2026 to furnish their enrollment certificate. A new examination centre has also been added in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
